I am so thankful for our snow day today, gives me time to catch up on my blogging, lol!

On my first layout I used the Frosted Designs Sketch #35, I have been playing there only a few weeks and love their challenges.

I Found My Mojo!

Maybe I just needed a little break from scrapping?

I had lost my mojo for about a week and it finally found it's way back home! YAY! I used my mojo and combined it with Lucy Chesna's last few sketches for the Sketch-a-thon going on over at MSW.

For my first layout I used sketch # 15:

and a close up of some gorgeous crochet flowers my friend Bev sent me along with a SPARKLY birdcage I have been eyeballing forever!

and a close up of the accordion butterfly I made. I didn't think of this on my own, I ran across it while blog reading and cannot remember where it was, or how the person connected the halves of butterflies, so I just used ribbon. Would love to give you credit if it was your blog.

Frosted Designs and a Lucy Chesna Sketch!

I found the Frosted Designs blog a while ago and have just been reading the blog posts and challenges. Well, they had a blog hop last weekend and I decided to hop along for some inspiration and am so glad I did! Such fabulous work! I combined their challenge, to use the word "LOVE" on your project along with a sketch( #10) by none other than Lucy Chesna and came up with this layout:

Yup, I DID IT, I used PINK on a boy layout! lol

For my resolution, I choose to quit a bad habit. I started smoking back in my senior year of highschool and have been smoking ever since, twenty some years. I have tried to quit a few times (New Years Resolutions) with no success. When I went in for my yearly checkup in September, I talked to my doctor about it and he prescribed me Chantix. I started taking it and have been smoke free since October 8th! Now if I could only give up the chocolate, lol!

Something other than a Christmas card! lol! It seems that's all I have been making lately.

I took the last challenge of the week at 365 Cards, Day 292, used the Sidewalks Collection from October Afternoon, a lot of fussy cuttin' and came up with this cute card:

The challenge was to use soothing colors and images on your card.

There is nothing more soothing to me than being outside on a summer day, light breeze blowing, birds singing and the kids laughing. Oh gosh, I miss summer already!

Christmas Preparations...

I am almost ready for Christmas, I think I finished the shopping last night and made my last card this morning. All I have left to do is the baking and a little wrapping.

I wanted to share the last of the cards I made using challenges at 365 Cards. I just found this blog recently and have been loving the challenges!

My first card is for Day 289, pretty petals. I handmade the poinsettia for this challenge.

My second card was for Day 290, base challenge. I used chipboard as my base for the card.

For Day 291, diamonds and pearls challenge, I came up with this this:

Just finished up a few more cards and wanted to post them before I turn on Survivor. I am having a blast with the JilliBean Christmas Chowder line and challenges from 365 cards!

This first card is for Day 287 Feeling blue-green challenge:

and my second card is for Day 288 Triple It. I used 3 circles: 2 punched buttons and 1 JilliBean PeaPod, 3 squares: 3 epoxy stickers from my stash and 3 triangles: my banner.

I found a cool blog that posts card challenges daily, it's called 365 Cards and played with a few of their challenges while making a few more Christmas cards, hey, I thought I had enough made, but used every last one of them and still have a few more friends to mail them to. Any who, this first card is for day 286, super sketchy Sunday. I love banners so this sketch jumped at me!

For my second card, I used day 285 Touchy Feely challenge. For this challenge you needed to add 3 textures to a card. I used: dry embossing on my turquiose cardstock, glitter on my snowflake and felt trim:

MS&M Design Team Reveal

This month at My Scraps & More, Tammi sent the design team My Minds Eye Lost and Found 2 collection. It's gorgeous! When I first saw this collection, it screamed heritage to me, so I choose some old pics my Mom had given me to scan in a few years back and created 2 layouts, the first one of my Mom and my uncle dancing at a wedding and the second one is of my grandparents:

Well, I am a little behind this month with taking the annual weekend shopping trip with the girls to Madison and then we extended it to go to the Monday night Packer/Viking game in Green Bay! Thanks Sandy, the game was a blast! Here's a quick picture of the 3 of us ready to go to the game:

Good afternoon! I have one more layout to share that I did for the True XOXO Scrapbooking Blog Hop! I loved Emma's Prima Paintables and have had these in my stash for a very long time, I almost took them to the LSS's garage sale, and so glad I didn't! I had a blast painting it and love the outcome of my layout! Thanks for the inspiration Emma!

I used Raechelle's October 10th sketch at My Scraps and More along with the new Sidewalks line by October Afternoon. Love this line!

The photo was one my DD took at lunch with her cell phone, so it's not the greatest, but I still wanted to scrap it for the every day moments in her life.

Finally Some Scrappy Time!

With Greg being on call this last weekend (and getting called in) I found a lot of scrapping time, FINALLY! I almost got caught up on all the sketches for the sketch-a-thon at My Scraps & More and did a blog hop at True XOXO Scrapbooking along with some of their challenges.

My first layout was a lift of my good friend, Lisa Watson at XOXO. I love her work and loved her sample layout on her blog!

New Sketch!

There is a new sketch challenge up at the My Scraps & More blog and the prize is the Playground Collection from Echo Park! I love the fun, bright colors in that collection!

I played with the sketch yesterday. I flipped the sketch 90 degrees and used a pic that Sierra took of Greg and I at the New Belgium Brewery in Fort Collins, CO. We each got 4 tokens to sample their beer, but I could only sample 2, the second one really hit me, it was so potent! Guess I can't drink as much as I used to, lol. Anyway, 1 of the tokens made it back to WI and I used that on my layout:

I fell in love with the 8.11 sketch at Sketchy Thursday earlier this week and just HAD to use it! I combined the sketch with Ginni's Recipe challenge at MSW, part of her recipe was to use lots of pics, so I printed my pics wallet sized and decided to do a 2 page layout (which I rarely do).

Colorado pics

Just wanted to pop in and share a few pics from our vacation to Colorado while I am taking a break from packing for our camping trip, we leave tomorrow.
This is a pic of the kids at the Garden of the Gods:

This is the Stanley Hotel where Jennifer & Jerod were married and where we took the ghost tour, yes, it's haunted!

The first time I saw an elk, of coarse I was taking pics at the back of the hotel and Greg had to call me on my cell. After not seeing any elk last summer on our trek to CA, Greg knew it was my mission to see one this year! lol!

Of coarse, what's a vacation to Colorado without a trip on the Cog Railway to Pike's Peak?! This was my third trip up, Greg's second and the kids first, but I think this was the coldest for me,( just like being in Wisconsin on a cold winter day), it was -10 degrees with the windchill and all we had on was sweatshirts, but Austin still climbed the rocks! (and look at that view!)

Scrappin' For Me!

I finally found some "me" scrappy time, by this I mean scrapping, that's not for a design team. Don't get me wrong I love scrapping for the two design teams I am on, but I finally had time once again to play at some very fun blogs!

The first layout I want to share with you today is called Happy. I used a pic of the kids & me on Mother's Day, of coarse they were being silly, and used October Afternoon's 5 & Dime collection. Put those with the July 7 sketch from Sassy Lil' Sketches, Challenge #6 at Scraptivations (bingo! I used the first row going down: punch, banner, celebration & brads) and here is my layout:

The second layout I did is called Twelve and has pics of Austin and his cake on his 12th birthday. I used the sketch from challenge #8 at Scraptivations along with the Scrap{Stash} 7/5/11 at My Scraps & More (use at least 10 different manufacturers on your layout, I used 12!) Here is my page:

Lucy at My Sketch World had a contest last month (Summer Is Here). The challenge was to create a layout about your favorite things to do in the summer and you must use at least 2 pics. We love to go to waterparks in the Dells and spend the day cooling off on the slides and in the water. I used a few different lines from Echo Park and loved how my layout turned out! Week 3 Got Talent!

I just finished loading my week 3 layout for the Got Scraps challenge at My Scraps & More and wanted to share. The challenge: Create a 2 page layout using a paper combination that you would not usually see together. I had a hard time with this at first and did some serious thinking on it. I used Cosmo Cricket's Haunted (Halloween) paper along with Crate Paper's School Spirit Collection. Here is my 2 pager:

This photo was taken a few years ago while we were camping at Dexterville and Jim brought Dad out to visit. I used Echo Park Playground line(I just love EP!) and an old piece of Basic Grey for my background. I also combined this challenge with Ginni's Recipe Challenge at My Sketch World. A birthday card for Mom

My friend, Bev, posted a challenge for May on the Just Imagine Crafts Kreaxions Punches blog and I had time last night so I thought the challenge was perfect to make my Mom a birthday card! The challenge was:

I used Glitz Hoopla papers, punched some hearts, butterflies and a border, added some ink, pearls to the butterflies and added a raw chipboard swirl and some flowers. Love the way it turned out! Thanks for the challenge!

A Layout From Mother's Day

WOW! Two posts in one day, that doesn't happen very often! LOL!

It's not often that I am IN a photo, I am usually the one taking them. I had Greg take a few pics of the kids and I this Mother's Day decided to scrap this one of Sierra and I right away! Of coarse it was perfect for a NSD challenge at MSW and decided to combine it with Scraptivations 4th challenge, make a handmade embellie. I decided to make these fun dryer sheet flowers! I used the new Summer Days papers from Echo Park (I just love the fun, bright colors) and some very old chipboard letters. I used a sketch from Tammi at My Scraps & More,

My dear daughter, Sierra and a few of her friends were in a dodgeball tournament a few weeks ago. One of the girls found these t-shirts at Walmart for a dollar each and that's where their team name came from: NERDY CHICKS RULE! And guess what??? THEY WON BEST DRESSED!

I did this layout for a challenge at My Scraps and More. The challenge was to scraplift a layout by Kim(killarnery rose). Thanks for the inspiration, Kim! I used Crate Papers Restoration Collection on this layout and made a medallion flower and added Sierra's nerdy pic to the center of it.

I have been having a blast playing at My Scraps and More! They have a contest staring in June. Here are the details:

Please join us for 8 fun weeks of challenges and games, looking for the first "My Scraps" talent star! Starting June 3rd, and each Friday thereafter, a challenge will be issued. You will have until the following Thursday at midnight eastern time to upload your challenge into the appropriate thread on the forum to continue on in theMy Scraps talent search.At the end of the eight weeks, A My Scraps and More Talent Star will be rewarded with a box of scrap goodies for sharing their talents! Along with the grand prize winner, someone will be randomly chosen each week among the participants of the challenge, to win a prize as well!

referrals: 2 pts each

My Sketch World and My Scraps and More Challenges

Of coarse, I always play at my home, aka MSW, but I found a new message board, blog and store! It's called My Scraps and More! The girls are so sweet, just like the girls at MSW and Tammi, the owner is awesome, just like Lucy! I have combined a few of the challenges from these 2 sites and love the outcome!!

For my first layout, Hoover Dam, I used Ann's Fussy Cutting Challenge at MSW and the April 1st Sketch Challenge at My Scraps and More and came up with this layout:

Scrappy Time!

I squeezed in some scrappy time here and there this week along with a few hours last week and a few today. I did manage to get 3 cards and 3 layouts done. I can't share 1 card and 1 layout quite yet, but will as soon as I can.

For my first card, I combined 3 challenges, the April 7th card sketch at Sassy Lil Card Sketches , the April Colour Challenge at Design Dollies (which was, royal blue, orange, lime green and white) and Lisa's rub-on challenge at MSW.

I have had these papers and rub-on in my stash for quite some time, it felt good to use them!

For my second card I used the April 1st sketch at MSW and combined it with the 2nd challenge at Scraptivation, which was photo inspiration challenge.

Recycled Dryer Sheet Blooms

I was blog reading last week and visited Gabrielle's blog and saw these wonderful flowers! They are made out of used dryer sheets and are so fun and easy to make! I made the flowers first and they were so elegant looking, I decided I needed an elegant photo to go along with them. I choose a few older photos of Sierra when she was 4 and a flower girl in my friends wedding. I love these flowers and now have to get more colors of Glimmer Mists so I can make more!

Best Creation Challenge

On the Best Creation's blog, they have a contest going through today. The challenge- create a fun birthday card using any Best Creations papers you have on hand.
I am not sure how old these papers are (I've had them for awhile) or the line they are, but they worked perfect for a fun, bright birthday card!

I fussy cut the kites and flowers from the pattern papers, made a few handmade flowers and a candle. The sentiment is also cut from one of the patterned papers.

Oh Scrappy Day!

I have been scrapping pretty much all morning, with the exception of taking Austin to and from basketball camp, but I did stay and take some pics, so I guess you could say I was thinking about scrapping!

I completed 2 layouts, both sketch challenges! I also used Crate Papers School Spirit Collection on them both. I love this collection!

The first one is for the January 28th sketch at Sassy Lil' Sketches. I am loving their sketches, they are so fun!

The second layout is for a new site to me, Sketchy Thursdays. I saw the sketch and had to play with it!

Earlier this week I had time for scrapping here and there and made the following.

This card I used the first card sketch of the year at My Sketch World and combined it with challenge #4 at Cropstop.
This card was made with another Lucy Chesna sketch from My Sketch World.

And my last thing to share with you today is a layout of DD playing basketball. I did this layout for a sketch challenge ( I flipped it upside down) at Design Dollies.

I used the January 21st sketch at Sassy Lil' Sketches ( I love this sketch!) along with Cropstop's Challenge #3, use squares and diecuts. I used a 12x12 piece of cardstock for my square and cut the flower out with my Cricut.

I also combined Scrapdango's library Mystery challenge in with it.

I love the outcome of it!

Lucy's new sketch is up for the month at My Sketch World and it's amazing, as usual! You can find it HERE . I combined the sketch with the element challenge at Design Dollies and came up with this layout:

I hand cut the red flowers out of felt and then stitched the insides with bakers twine. Since the colors on the flag were red, black and yellow, I wanted to stick with mainly those colors.

My friend Wendi made it on the DT at Design Dollies so I thought I would check out their blog and they had a color challenge going on. So of coarse, I played along! Here are the colors:

I painted the chipboard hearts red and then covered them with Glossy Accents. I took pompoms and added them with hot glue to the ends of my fiber bow and added to the top of the larger heart.

Had a blast with this one!

I used the Rusted Sun line by Fancy Pants and also snuck in an old piece of Cosmo from my stash. I couldn't resist adding the swimsuits and trunks for the banner. Thanks for the fun sketch!
